Belly and Button get a new home!

Im sure most of you have already heard but the turtles got a new home this week.  It was very exciting for the turtles as well as the students!!  The funniest part is that I did not tell them what I was doing the new aquarium was just there after recess and then after MAPS it had rocks and water. I could hear them talking to each other.  "I think it's for the turtles." "Yes, it's a new habitat." "The turtles have a new habitat." They were cracking me up using a big science word, correctly. Definitely makes me love what I do.  

How sweet it is....

We loved decorating boxes with mom this morning! We are all set for Valentine's Day! We have some great decorators for sure! Thank you all for coming! I know the kids had a great time. 

Kindergarten goals!!!

Kindergarten has been busy setting goals for ourselves and our class. Our goals include but are not limited to, counting to 100, spaces in our writing, reading 100 sight words, completing the 25 book challenge and many more. Check us out!!!

Martin's Big Words

As we are getting ready to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we were learning a little about him today.  We read Martin's Big Words: The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by Doreen Rappaport.
We talked about the words he thought were important like love instead of hate, to dream, to work to together.  Then we  brainstormed words that they thought were important.  The words they came up with were all them!!  They are amazing.  Then their job was to pick the words they thought were most important to them and put them in their skitch project.  Please check out their newest blog posts to see what words they each picked.
