Pumpkins, pumpkins & pumpkins!

We have been doing so many pumpkins activities. We are pumpkin experts for sure!  We carved our pumpkin and counted the seeds. Everyone got to see, feel, smell and taste the pumpkins.

We recorded tons of data in our pumpkin science book. Ask them to tell you the pumpkin life cycle. Ask your child if a pumpkin floats or sinks?
Ask them how many seeds it has? (over 500!! and we counted all of them by 10's of course) Ask them what their favorite was; bread, pie or seeds??

We counted pumpkin seeds on pumpkin cards.

We laced the pumpkins.
We played a Halloween matching game.

We added pumpkins to Farmer Brown's farm.
We are Pumpkin experts!! In case you were wondering, the class told me I was the best "pie cooker ever!"  Ha!!!  Aren't kindergarteners great?  Happy Halloween y'all!!!

I almost forgot our sink or float pictures!!!  We predicted whether we thought the pumpkin would sink or float and graphed our predictions.

The little ones definitely floated but we were still unsure about the big one!  I love their faces as he dropped it in!  It made quite the splash!
It floats!!   :0)

  2. This is a great way to learn about how things float. Pumpkins are heavy, but they are filled with very little. The pumpkin seeds only take up a small area inside the pumpkin. Great job kids!
